Grace Yoga 200 Hour Professional Teacher Training Certification Program
The Program is approved with the
Yoga Alliance. Upon completing all of the requirements of the
training, you will be eligible to register with Yoga Alliance as RYT 200,
graduate of a registered school. The first training weekend will occur January, 2009 in Richmond, VA. As a
Our
program is suitable for those interested in teaching yoga or for those who
simply want to deepen their understanding and knowledge of this ancient
tradition with profound contemporary applications. Regardless of the student’s
intention to register for the program, Grace Yoga expects that all
enrollees abide by the course requirements in order to successfully
complete the curriculum. The program has
been created and is directed by Arlene Bjork, RYT500, and more
than fulfills the standards and requirements for "RYT200" status with the
national
Yoga
Alliance
. Upon completing all of the requirements of the
training, you will be eligible to register with Yoga Alliance as RYT 200,
graduate of a registered school. These certification requirements
include: Over
200 H Techniques
Training/Practice —
Includes asanas, pranayamas, kriyas, chanting, mantra, meditation, and
other traditional yoga techniques; These hours will be a mix between
(1) analytical training in how to teach and practice the techniques, and
(2) guided practice of the techniques themselves. Teaching
Methodology -
Includes principles of demonstration, observation, assisting/correcting,
instruction, teaching styles, qualities of a teacher, the student's
process of learning, and business aspects of teaching yoga. Anatomy
& Physiology —
both human physical anatomy and physiology (bodily systems, organs,
etc.) and energy anatomy and physiology (chakras, nadis, etc.). Includes
both the study of the subject and application of its principles to yoga
practice (benefits, contraindications, healthy movement patterns,
etc). Yoga
Philosophy/Lifestyle and Ethics for Yoga Teachers —
Includes the study of yoga philosophies, yoga lifestyle, and ethics for
yoga teachers. Practicum
—Includes
practice teaching, receiving feedback, observing others teaching and
hearing/giving feedback. Also includes assisting students while someone
else is teaching The
unique format will be comprised of 12 required weekend intensives in 12
months (one weekend per month). Most
weekends will generally follow this schedule: Friday
